Hadaq is an interactive geographical map that serves as an electronic guide that reflects the legislation regulating the fishing sector in the UAE. It identifies the geographical location of the fishing boat within the permitted fishing limits and areas. It also shows the protected areas and prohibited fishing areas within the coast of the country. In addition, it includes hunting seasons and technical specifications for the permitted hunting tools according to the geographical location of the fishing boat.

Application objectives

  • Solving the problem of overlapping fishing equipment for fishermen in the sea, due to the lack of a system that helps fishermen identify fishing areas and permitted equipment in each area
  • Increasing compliance with legislation regulating the fishing sector through effective regulation of the fishing profession
  • Alignment with the directions of the UAE government and the smart services strategy
  • Sustaining fish stocks and enhancing food security through developing and sustaining fish wealth
  • Supporting the Ministry’s efforts in the field of the blue economy and indicators of the sustainable development goals (Goal 14)
