Ministry of Environment and Water meets with South African delegation to strengthen UAE-South Africa cooperation

H.E. Dr. Rashid Ahmed Bin Fahad, Minister of Environment and Water, has met with South African Ambassador to the UAE H.E. Mr. M K Lekgoro and his delegation to enhance their collaborative efforts and establish strong bilateral ties between their two countries especially in terms of environmental protection efforts and investment opportunities. The meeting took place at the Ministry of Environment and Water’s office in Dubai in the presence of H.E Abdel Rahim Mohammed Al Hammadi, Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Environment & Water and Assistant Undersecretary for Region Sector H.E. Sultan Bin Alwan Al Habsi.

In welcoming the Ambassador, H.E. Dr. Bin Fahad emphasized the importance of strong cooperation between the UAE and South Africa in various key areas such as the environment and trade.

The two sides particularly discussed ways to facilitate and accelerate the procedures on bird importation from South Africa in accordance with the agreement reached by both parties during their meeting in August 2015.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Ambassador Lekgoro thanked the Ministry of Environment and Water for its efforts to strengthen cooperation between the UAE and South Africa.
