The Ministry of Environment and Water, in collaboration with Al Yusuf Motors, has organized workshops aimed at teaching fishermen how to use the four-stroke marine engines in most of fishermen locations across the UAE.
The workshops were also organized to train fishermen on the optimal use of marine engines, ensure the continuity of the hypothetical age of engines and educate the fishermen on reducing engine malfunctions and maintenance costs.
A technical team from Al Yusuf Motors, in collaboration with Japanese technical experts, will examine engines for free, to ensure their readiness and safety. In case any malfunction is detected, engine owners will be notified and provided with technical advices on everything related to engines, through direct communication with fishermen in their locations. Guiding booklets will also be distributed to
Workshops were implemented in Al Hamriya Port in Dubai, fishermen locations in Al Jumeirah, and fishermen ports in Umm al-Quwain. Workshops will continue to be held in the remaining regions until February, where services will include fishermen who use four-stroke engines.
Over the last two years, the ministry distributed eco-friendly marine engines with low fuel consumption, to reduce the operating cost on fishermen for each fishing trip. Up to 749 marine engines were distributed, and it is expected to continue the following stage of distributing the remaining engines as of 2014.
These marine engines contribute in preserving the environment by reducing noise, and exhaust gases, as they are internal-combustion engines, unlike other engines.
