UAE Minister of Climate Change and Environment meets fishermen from Abu Dhabi and the Western Region H.E. Dr. AlZeyoudi interacts with fishing community as part of field meetings to address their needs & discuss challenges

H.E. Dr. Thani Bin Ahmed AlZeyoudi, UAE Minister of Climate Change and Environment, recently met anglers from Abu Dhabi and Western Region at Al Dhafra Hall in Fishermen Port, Abu Dhabi as part of a series of field meetings with the UAE’s fishermen.

The Minister stated that the objective of the field meetings is to identify fishermen’s conditions, address their needs, and discuss the challenges they face in various parts of the UAE. He said that that the Ministry is steadfastly working with them to find appropriate solutions to elevate the position of fishing as a profession and enhance the abilities of fishermen. The session clarified the role of the Ministry in preserving fisheries and supporting their sustainability as well as elaborated on the procedures and measures undertaken so far.

 H.E. Dr. AlZeyoudi further said that the Ministry’s interest to support fishing embodies the attention of the UAE’s leadership to fishermen as well as reflects the Ministry’s keenness to stop the depletion of fish wealth, especially the economic species. The proactive efforts are taken to return fish stocks to sustainable levels as in the past through cooperation among the Ministry, various concerned authorities from the UAE, and workers in the field of fishing.
