Ministry of Environment and Water meets its customers

In accordance with its strategy and ongoing efforts to ensure high quality, efficiency, transparency and punctual administrative services by providing outstanding services to the customers, the UAE Ministry of Environment and Water recently held a three-day forum for its customers from various segments at its headquarters in Dubai. The event was attended by 60 traders in addition to His Excellency Abdul Rahim Al Hammadi, Assistant Undersecretary for Support Services and H.E. Sultan Alwan, Assistant Undersecretary for External Audit.

The forum was organized to complement the ministry's keenness to raise awareness about the services it provides and develop them according to the customers’ needs. During the event, the ministry met costumers from different companies, particularly the ones specializing in livestock, fisheries and veterinary segments in the state.

 The forum included a presentation of the ministry's strategic plan and objectives, along with identifying the electronic services and various options intended for individuals and institutions who were present. According to the ministry, the MoEW’s official web site allows customers to conduct transactions via its 112 offered services. The charter of customer service, one of the services under the Emirates Government Service Excellence Program, was also reviewed. Also discussed during the event was how to properly make suggestions and observations for the UAE’s ‘My government’ web section.  

 The forum was also held to help reinforce the communication channels between the ministry and its customers—aiding in identifying their needs and generating feedback to improve and develop the services provided to them. These channels include the ministry’s customer service centers, its official website, its call centre, the social media accounts, the Media, and the smart application ‘Smart Environment,’ which was launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai during GITEX Technology Week 2014.

 H.E. Abdul Rahim Al Hammadi, emphasized that this forum comes within the framework of strengthening the ways for mutual cooperation with the customers; explaining the importance of the continuous cooperation with them and listening to their needs thus contributing to the development of the services offered to them by the ministry.

 Meanwhile, H.E. Sultan Alwan, pointed out that the organization of the forum comes under the guidance of the wise UAE government and its care for the partners and customers due to their significant role in developing the work system at the state level. In addition to their contributions to support the smart transformation of their services in all fields, the ministry has stressed on the holding of a series of meetings that will be part of a methodology developed in order to communicate with various groups that are connected to the services of the ministry.

 At the end of the forum, a customer satisfaction questionnaire was distributed to the participants to help measure their satisfaction with the services provided by the ministry to them, while the companies confirmed the importance of holding such meetings because of their prominent role in the effective consolidation of relations and strengthening cooperation between the customers to achieve the public interest.

 It is also worth mentioning that the ministry developed and transformed its services electronically, which contributed to the diversify the channels that provide services to the customers, since it is done through visiting the website, www.moccae.gov.ae, or through the use of the smart application, “smart environment,” in addition to visiting one of the branches of customer service centres located across different emirates.

 A costumer can communicate with the Ministry of Environment and Water, through one of the options mentioned previously, in addition to its social media accounts or by communicating with the call centre numbers, 8003050.
