MOEW: Adopting the Vision for the Years 2014 -2016 Commensurate with the Current Environmental Situation in the U.A.E.

H.E. Dr. Rashid Ahmad bin Fahad, Minister of Environment and Water, has chaired the sixth meeting of the policies and strategies council, in the presence of assistant undersecretaries, directors and specialists at the Ministry of Environment and Water, for the adoption of the vision, mission and values of the ministry in its third session for the years 2014-2016.

    His Excellency has commented at the beginning of the meeting that the Ministry of Environment and Water has ensured methodological concepts and working methods with regard to the process of authentication. Along with the introduction of the third session of the Federal Government and the Ministry's plan for the years 2014-2016, a number of workshops have been launched to achieve a harmonious understanding and consolidated methodology to review and develop the existing strategic plan.

    Preparation stages of the vision included a review and a development plan for the existing strategic plan of the Ministry for the third session under the chairmanship of H.E. Dr. Mariam Al Shenasi, the Assistant Undersecretary for Technical Affairs, whom summed up the workgroup efforts in reviewing and discussing the current vision for the Ministry, studying the status quo and the environmental priorities in various hubs, distributing questionnaires and analyzing results, and holding periodic meetings and workshops with various departments of the Ministry. It was decided for the upcoming period that workshops will be conducted for various partners, and questionnaires will survey the partners’ view regarding the Ministry vision, mission and strategic objectives.

    During the meeting as well, the mechanism used to determine the vision was illustrated through an innovative presentation which demonstrated the importance of selecting a vision that commensurate with the current environmental situation in the country and daily life requirements. The working group answered all questions asked and observations mentioned during the presentation.
