MOEW Issued a Decision on Regulating the Import or Re-export of Tomato, Eggplant, Potato and Beans from Countries Where Dead Insect Infections in Tomato Leaves have been Recorded

As a part of the Ministry of Environment and Water strategy framework and to achieve its goal of enhancing food security, the Ministry of Environment and Water issued a ministerial decision on the organization of import or re-export of tomato fruits or seedlings or any part of the plants of tomatoes

eggplant, potatoes, peppers, beans and some eggplant family herbs or any other vegetable related families for consumption or vegetative propagation from the countries where Dead Insect Infections in tomato leaves have been recorded.

   The decision stipulated the organization of  import or re-export of these fruits to be accompanied by a health certificate stating that the consignments are free from all phases of the Dead Insect in tomato leaves, where any incoming consignments will be denied entry through country ports if they don’t meet this requirement.
