The United Arab Emirates will participate at the Conference of Environmental Education for Sustainable Development in Tbilisi, Republic of Georgia on September 6th-7th, 2012.
. The UAE delegation will be headed by H.E. Dr. Mariam Al Shenasi, the Assistant Undersecretary for Technical Affairs at the Ministry of Environment & Water, and by the participating members of the Ministry of Education and Abu Dhabi Education Council. The conference is organized by the Georgian government in collaboration with the United Nations Environment Program and the UNESCO. The conference aims to promote international cooperation to achieve sustainability in environmental education through global efforts, and provide a platform for decision-makers to interact with the United Nations environmental and sustainable development devoted fields. In addition, the conference aims to implement an environmental education agenda at the national, regional and international levels and sets a road map for the agenda. The conference may result in identifying the broad lines of a new global agenda for environmental education after 2015, that would be able to encounter the current and future environmental challenges.
