Sunday, 29 November 2015

His Excellency Dr. Rashid Ahmed Bin Fahad, Minister, Ministry of Environment and Water, honored Khaled Al Awar, a student from Abu Dhabi’s Khalifa University, at the Ministry’s headquarters in Dubai. Khaled designed the game, ‘Abher,’ a highly interactive game on fishing that has received overwhelming response since its launch in GITEX 2015 last October. The game, which was especially designed for fishing enthusiasts, works on smartphones and tablets and includes the latest standards and guidelines for fishing in the UAE.

Minister Bin Fahad expressed his pride over the nation's young generation of thinkers--creating and developing new ideas for various fields of endeavor. He stressed on the importance of   broadening the opportunities for these individuals and giving them a chance to explore their creativity--which is considered as an important foundation in the move to achieve excellence and help provide a better life for individuals and the whole of society.

In response, Al Awar thanked Minister Bin Fahad and the Ministry of Environment and Water for their tribute, which he says acts as an inspiration and a driver for young inventors like him to learn more and come up with more creative ideas.
