Ministry of Environment and Water discusses collaboration with Republic of France

His Excellency Eng. Saif Al Shara, Assistant Undersecretary of Agricultural affairs and Animal Sector, Ministry of Environment and Water, recently met with H.E. Xavier Basholk, Middle East Regional Advisor for Agricultural Affairs at the economic department of the Embassy of France, and his accompanying delegation during one of the Ministry's headquarters in Dubai. The guests included Dr. Mark Gogni, Dean of Alfort Veterinary School and Professor Dominik Grendin, Alfort Veterinary School.

The meeting discussed ways to further strengthen collaboration between the UAE and the Republic of France in the animal and agricultural fields, with a particular focus on sharing expertise in food safety, veterinary practices and the enhancement of national capabilities in veterinary quarantine.

H.E Al Shara commended the strong ties between the two countries and praised France’s achievements in the technical and scientific fields, especially in veterinary practices. H.E. welcomed efforts to strengthen collaboration between the ministry and France, particularly in regard to building national capabilities in Animal healthcare.

The French delegation in return invited the ministry to visit France and the Alfort Veterinary School, one of the oldest veterinary education institutions in world.

At the end of the meeting, H.E Saif Al Shara gave to Mr. Gogni a translated book on the UAE’s founding father, Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
