Ministry of Environment and Water named as official sponsor for UAE Pavilion at Expo Milan 2015

Sunday, 26 April 2015

The Ministry of Environment and Water will be participating as the official sponsor of the UAE Pavilion & Business Centre at Expo Milan 2015, the next scheduled Universal Exposition hosted by Milan, Italy, which will be held from May 1, 2015 to October 31, 2015. The exhibition is expected to attract more than 20 million visitors from over 147 countries during its six-month run. The UAE Pavilion, which is participating under the banner, ‘Feeding the mind,’ falls in line with the country’s Vision 2021—ensuring and enhancing a sustainable environment and integrated infrastructure that the Ministry aims to achieve under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.

Engineer Yousef Al-Ahmad Al Raisi, Acting Director of the Government Communication Department, Ministry of Environment and Water, shared that the Ministry’s participation at Expo Milan 2015 is part of its role to develop and promote sustainable development projects and to ensure the further development of the UAE’s environmental sector. The Ministry of Environment and Water will be particularly supporting the UAE Pavilion’s Business Centre under the slogan, ‘Commercial and Future Business Development.’ The centre will play host to many UAE government entities and institutions as they gather to discuss and review the most important achievements and projects in the country including the environment, food, energy and technology sectors.

The Business Centre will include a series of meetings and discussions to review topics related to the Trade Movement in the country particularly especially via Dubai. Topics include energy projects, promotion of food and bio-security, smart transformation and several environmental initiatives that the UAE is committed to implement within the framework of its vision--aiming to position the UAE as one of the global frontrunners by 2021.
