Ministry of Environment & Water recognizes its employees with Knights of Environment Award

H.E. Dr. Rashid Ahmed Bin Fahad, UAE Minister of Environment and Water, recently honored its employees with the ‘Knights of the Environment’ Award for their outstanding performance during the Ministry’s second session for 2014 in Dubai. The Award Ceremony was organized within the framework of the Ministry of Environment and Water to promote, develop and motivate its human resources towards creativity and innovation so that they are able to guide the Ministry in its quest for excellence. The Ministry considers the human element as one of its most important strategic resources and supports the Federal Human Resources policy and strategic planning that is consistent with the orientations of the leadership

 

H.E. Dr. Bin Fahad confirmed that the Ministry’s ‘Knights of the Environment’ Award was launched to highlight the potential, efforts and achievements of its talented and motivated employees. It also aims to provide a stimulating environment that encourages healthy competition as well as foster a culture of creativity, loyalty and excellence among all employees.

H.E said that the government is striving to reach the ranks of the developed countries through its modernization, improvement and development efforts. The Ministry encourages its staff to achieve more with hard work and perseverance and have positive energy to attain excellence in order to efficiently deliver their services in line with the transition to a Smart Government.

In addition, the Ministry will gradually shift to a new level titled “Innovation” with an aim to develop the knowledge, abilities and skills of the staff, enabling them to formulate ideas, practices, and innovative solutions to meet challenges at various levels in line with the principles of the National Strategy for Innovation announced recently by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.

H.E. Dr. Bin Fahad honored the winners under the following categories - Knight of Excellence in Supervisory, Technical and Engineering; Knight of Excellence in Specialized Functions and Administration; and Knight of Excellence in Service Dealers. The evaluation was based on criteria that included performance and achievement, initiative, creativity, innovation, cooperation, and commitment to a career. The criteria for participation of candidates in the supervisory category included responsibility, continuous learning, and supervisory skills.

The UAE Ministry of Environment and Water launched the ‘Knights of the Environment’ Award for its employees in 2012. It extended to staff of all the sectors under the Ministry. The annual award aims to apply the best practices in the field of corporate excellence and career development as well as raising the level of performance to achieve the strategic objectives of the Ministry. It strives to develop the services of the Ministry to enhance the satisfaction of employees, customers, partners and community. The award also entitles employees to participate in the Mohammed bin Rashid Award for Excellence in Government Performance which aims to strengthen the role of federal government institutions in the service of all segments of society.
