His Excellency Dr. Rashid Ahmad bin Fahad, the Minister of Environment and Water, expressed his deep appreciation for the participation of the General Command of Dubai Police for their participation in events and activities in the joint campaign "Union Tree in All Emirates” that was launched by the Ministry of Environment and Water in collaboration with the municipalities of the country on Monday. The participation came in response to the initiative "Union Tree" announced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and the Prime Minister of the UAE and the Ruler of Dubai may Allah bless him-, on the occasion of the glorious National Day of the United Arab Emirates.

His Excellency pointed out that this participation reflects the keenness of the General Command of Dubai Police to contribute and commit to the goals of sustainable development which is on of the pillars of the UAE Vision 2021 initiated by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan -may Allah protect him-; have equal goals as the Union Tree initiative goals which is by showing national and environmental interest. Since planting a tree in the land of the Emirates is as planting a tree for the great Spirit of the Union which will be present in the minds of its children.

   Dr. Bin Fahad added that this sort of participation demonstrates the depth of partnership and cooperation between the Ministry of Environment and Water and the General Command of Dubai Police. As both parties are keen to join forces and efforts to raise the level of environmental awareness and implement activities and events in the framework of the memorandum of understanding signed earlier by the parties. Adding in, that the ministry is actively involved in supporting the initiatives and efforts of Dubai Police, such as the “Million Trees” initiative launched in 2010, by His Excellency Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, the Commander in Chief of Dubai Police.

   Concluding his statement, the Minister reiterated his thanks for Dubai Police, for their involvement and efforts in different environmental initiatives. He also recognized the contribution of Dubai Police for  providing large quantities of “Ghaf” trees for the initiative, emphasizing, that their participation will contribute positively to the objectives of the campaign "Union Tree in All Emirates", and objectives of the initiative of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid –may Allah bless him-.
