The UAE Ministry of Environment and Water has announced that it is gearing up to launch ‘Ten Initiatives’ in various environmental fields during the UAE Innovation Week in the presence of H.E. Dr. Rashid Ahmed bin Fahad, UAE Minister of Environment and Water. In line with the directives of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, the UAE Innovation Week will take place from November 22 to 28, 2015. The initiatives will encompass marine environment, biodiversity, air quality, water resources, and plant health.
The Minister emphasized on the importance of the UAE Innovation Week which demonstrates the directions of the nation’s wise leadership in the adoption of novel concepts for the development and advancement of the work and services provided by government institutions. He said that the launch of the Ten Initiatives is the result of the Ministry of Environment and Water’s efforts to implement innovative solutions into its work process since the declaration of year 2015 as the ‘Year of Innovation.’
H.E. Dr. bin Fahad added that the Ministry’s achievements in the field of innovation recently culminated in receiving international accreditation by the Global Leadership Institute in collaboration with Boston University for innovation management in all categories, including professional, managerial, and executive management. This reflects the Ministry’s efforts to establish a culture of innovation and create a working framework, providing society with the opportunity to thrive and cultivate their skill sets as part of the initiatives of UAE’s Vision 2021. He pointed out that the UAE Innovation Week is an opportunity for all government institutions to showcase the most prominent efforts in adopting the culture of innovation.
On the first day of the UAE Innovation week, the Ministry of Environment and Water will launch ‘Smart Qarqoor,’ ‘Green Heritage,’ and ‘Innovation in Agricultural Work, followed by the initiatives on ‘Drop of Life’ and ‘Bio-Refinery’ on the second day. In addition, the launch of the ‘Monitor and Control’ initiative and ‘Be a Reason for My Stay and Discover Your Country’s Reserves’ will be unveiled on the third day while the ‘UAE Program of Environmental Excellence’ and ‘Innovation Camp’ will be introduced at the end of the week.
