The Ministry of Environment and Water is set to issue a decree to regulate the production of mineral wool and fiberglass industries. The decree falls in line with the ministry’s frameworks to develop legislations that ensure environmental sustainability and enhance environmental performance of the mineral wool and fiberglass industries. The implementation of ordinance aims to minimize environmental pollution and any health risks associated with environmental pollutants.
The regulation will stipulate the scope of application and pollution control techniques using best available practices to protect and minimize adverse impact on the environment and human health. According to the decree, establishments will also be required to prepare an environmental management plan specific to their operations.
The decree comprise of articles, that include mineral wool and fiberglass manufacturing, fiberglass & mineral wool products manufacturing, fiberglass boat manufacturing, material handling and storage, waste management, air pollution monitoring, permissible noise level, health and safety practices for environment pollution, and best environmental practices to ensure human safety in addition to placing a procedure to save all data related to such type of industries.
