Ministry of Environment and Water first government institution in UAE to be granted international accreditation by Global Leadership Institute for innovation management

The Ministry of Environment and Water was granted international accreditation by the Global Leadership Institute in collaboration with Boston University for innovation management in all categories – including professional, managerial, and executive management). This achievement serves as further encouragement for the Ministry in its efforts to establish a culture of innovation and create a working framework which will provide society with the opportunity to thrive and cultivate their skill sets as part of the initiatives of UAE Vision 2021.

This accomplishment complements the Ministry's initiative to ensure that all administrative services reflect quality and efficiency following the vision of H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, who declared 2015 as the ‘Year of Innovation’ and the directives of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to promote the National Innovation Strategy.

Eng. Essa Al Hashmi, Chief Innovation Officer at the Ministry, emphasized that the Ministry is eager to promote a culture of innovation by implementing the programs of the National Innovation Strategy, developing innovation projects and organizing regular meetings, courses, and training workshops in coordination with the Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation.

Al Hashmi added: “The Ministry of Environment and Water aims to develop an efficient and stimulating work environment following the recommendation of the team of experts that have been assigned with the management of the training programs. The team will be organizing a total of five workshops for all the employees which aims to enlighten participants on the latest practices in the field of global innovation and serve as an example for the strategy that the Ministry hopes to adopt to realize its strategic goals.”

The Ministry is currently in the process of developing a management plan that addresses the country’s needs through a series of training programs aimed at encouraging organizations and institutions to effectively work together in the move to adopt globally innovative ideas.
