The Ministry of Environment and Water has participated in this year’s edition of ‘Car Free Day.” A solid supporter of the initiative, the Ministry marks its sixth consecutive engagement with this year’s event which was organized  by the Dubai Municipality in commemoration of the 18th National Environment Day which champions the slogan ‘Green Economy: Innovation and Sustainability.’

The program is part of the ‘Wall of Knowledge’ drive, an innovative move to maximize the use of technology in order to efficiently instill environmentally conscious values to all members of society. With an aim to utilize the latest technological advancements, the initiative promotes the use of Ipads to better facilitate the exchange of knowledge and awareness within the environmental field. This includes encouraging a culture of mass transportation among the people in order to help steer the general public’s lifestyle in line with the UAE’s Green Development Strategy and the move to establish Dubai as an environment-friendly city, which is a core component of UAE Vision 2021.
