In the UAE, we are committed to protecting beneficial insects on which migratory birds depend. Over the past years, the country has made significant efforts to conserve migratory birds, highlighted through various main directions including expanding protected areas providing safe havens for nesting and breeding, combating marine pollution which is vital for the marine environment where migratory birds find sanctuary, and implementing a key set of national programmes as part of the National Biodiversity Strategy to preserve and breed endangered species and reintroduce them into their natural habitats, particularly falcons and houbara bustards.
