Stretching for 30 km between Masafi and Fujairah and once a main route through the Hajar Mountains, Wadi Ham is considered the longest valley in the United Arab Emirates.
Also located here is Bithnah Fort, built in the 18th Century. It looks onto the Hajar Mountains on one side. On the other, it gazes over Wadi Ham and Al Bithnah village, where an iron age tomb dating between 2000 to 1600 BC resides. Today we also have a dam of the same name within the valley.
Wadi Ham as such combines historic and natural significance, reflecting man’s ancient and modern relationship with the land and the environment. Activities correspondingly include hiking, discovering nature and uncovering the area’s historic and prehistoric past.
