Souq Al Arsa is the oldest marketplace in the region, aging more than half a century, as Bedouins with their camels used to meet in it for business purposes. Souq Al Arsa is a prime local example on the people’s lifestyle in the past. “Al Arsa” in Arabic language means an empty square surrounded by buildings from every side. The Souq comprises of 76 stores that display local and antique handicrafts, including wooden items, souvenirs, along with garments, palm-leaf baskets, copper pots and carpets.
