Shawka Dam/Sad Shawka

The Shawka Dam was built in 2001 for the purpose of recharging groundwater and flood protection with a length of 13 meters. Width. 107 meters with a storage capacity of 275 thousand cubic meters. The dam is located in the Shawka area south of the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah. And with the development of urban tourism, it made the dam attractive to citizens, residents and tourists. The Dam displays beauty of its picturesque nature. Wadi Shawka was expanded to take advantage of the water retained and to strengthen the tourism facilities in the dam. The aim is to attract more visitors and nature lovers to the site, and that is why the area has integrated facilities represented by a park and playground for kids.
