Buhais Geology Park

The Geological Park in Bahis is a pioneering project in the field of ecotourism aimed at introducing visitors to the geological history of Sharjah, the geological importance of Jabal Bahis and the archaeological areas surrounding it.

The park is characterized by its important archaeological site, rich in the fossilized remains of many ancient marine creatures, which settled in shallow seas that were submerging most of the land in the country until a recent period from a geological perspective.

The park contains two archaeological sites, which contribute to enhancing knowledge about the history of human settlement in this region, which dates back more than 125 thousand years.

How to get here

Head out of Dubai on the Dubai-Al Ain Road (E66) past Outlet Mall and the Sevens Stadium. Take exit 30 and merge onto the Jebel Ali-Lehbab Road (E77) toward Hatta/Oman. At the fourth roundabout take the first exit onto Dubai-Hatta Road (E44) heading towards Hatta/Oman. At the roundabout in Madam exit towards Umm Al Quwain-Al Shuwaib Road (E55) heading towards Maliha/Masfoot/Hatta. At the second roundabout take the third exit to arrive at Jebel Buhais.
