Al-Sinniyah Island

It is the largest island of all the islands of Umm Al Quwain emirate and is located 1 km east of Umm Al Quwain. It is separated from the mainland by Khor Umm Al Quwain and is about 8 km long. The island has historical significance, as it was inhabited by the Umm Al Quwain people under the leadership of Sheikh Majid bin Rashid Al Mualla. The topography of the island is generally flat with a vegetation cover comprising of Crimea and Ghaf trees and other shrubs and seasonal plants. It is considered as a natural reserve area that attracts large numbers of migratory birds, such as flamingo and eagles, heron’s plover’s terns and seagulls and where dears graze freely. The island has great archaeological significance. It contains 65 archaeological sites, ranging from tombs, pits and towers.

There is no entry fee to go to the island, but there are fees for the trips which are operated by clubs.
