Al Qattara Oasis is located just north of Al Jimi Oasis. Within its walls, amongst its date plantations, one finds an abundance of history evidenced in its forts, residences, mosques and souq.
Traditional falaj irrigation networks carrying water from aquifers to the plantations are equally in evidence. Meriting a place on the UNESCO World Heritage List is its representation of the human management of land, in addition to the development of agriculture, architecture and social progression in a desert environment. These factors are similarly shared with the other oases in Al Ain.
