Al Ain Zoo

With the objective of being an environmental, recreational and educational institution; the conservation of wildlife is the all-embracing purpose of Al Ain Zoo. Established in 1968, it manifests a place where animals live in surroundings that mirror natural habitats. It is equally a focal point where visitors can learn and garner respect for the natural world and the wider ecosystem.

This zoo and the emphasis that it asserts on the environment and conservation, is subsequently the largest of its kind in the Middle East, representing home to around 200 species and measuring 4 square kilometres (400 hectares).
